Dead Letter Circus & Clea Win Big at Queensland Music Awards
New World Artists, Exclusive Booking Agents for Dead Letter Circus.
Dead Letter Circus have ascended to the forefront of alternative rock, their fresh take striking a chord both locally and abroad. Their 2010 debut album ‘This is the Warning’ hit #2 on the national ARIA charts and spawned 6 radio singles on its way to passing the 35,000 sales mark. The record was voted by fans into triple j’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time, and Red Bull listed the band as one of the Top 11 Rock Acts in the world.
But their live performance is where DLC have built their reputation – they’ve sold out multiple national tours in Australia, most recently filling rooms earlier this month on yet another run across the capitals of the country. They’ve played on festivals around the country including Big Day Out, Pyramid Rock, Breath Of Life, Festival of the Sun and many more. They’ve also found time to do stadium shows with Linkin Park and Muse, headline festivals in India and tour right across the USA, where their SXSW performances in 2012 helped them create waves across the world
With their sophomore album ‘The Catalyst Fire’ landing Dead Letter Circus their second #2 ARIA Chart Position and incredible reviews, Dead Letter Circus have signed deals for the UK, Europe (UNFD/ADA), and the USA (The End Records), and are currently on The Catalyst Fire World Tour debuting their highly anticipated new material to fans across the globe.
Last month DLC stopped off in South Africa to headline Krank’d Up Festival in Johannesburg, then ventured to their co-headline tour of the UK, Germany and Belgium with Monuments. Unfortunately the US government shutdown wreaked havoc on the band’s US work visa processing, with the band’s passports locked in the US Embassy. Fingers were crossed, flights were moved three times, and shows were cancelled in the US, but making a little lemonade out of lemons, Dead Letter Circus scored alast minute spot on Euroblast Festival in Germany and played to a massive crowd of new fans.
Some good karma paid off and at the eleventh hour their US visas were approved, and DLC jumped on the next plane. Dead Letter Circus have now joined Periphery for their massive 30 date tour around the US and Canada in October & November to celebrate their signing with The End Records for North America (label home to The Prodigy, HIM, and The Dandy Warhols).
